Skin by Ryan Hope

8 Nov

Ryan Hope’s debut film, Skin, is a documentary that tests the boundaries of art and the human body. Check out the trailer above. Skin is a dark, stylish examination of tattoo culture as high art. Featuring contributions from Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Raymond Pettibon, The Chapman Brothers and in association with Dasha Zhukova’s Garage Magazine, the film is a beautiful visual essay from the frontiers of contemporary British art. There are private screenings of the film happening now, but word is that it will made available on Vimeo soon. Watch this space.
