Earlier this week I was pointed to the work of designer/creative Shayli Harrison. I’m a fan. Having finished her bachelor in fashion design last year, Shayli made the move from Sydney to Melbourne. She ititially studied fashion as a way to find a creative outlet that paid more steadily than the broader (slightly more ambiguous) title of “artist”. It shows. While clothing may be her forté, the styling and eclecticism of Shayli’s work has a the same effect as catching a glimpse of a painting you like: you can’t help but pause and praise. Shayli has a penchant for bright, whimsical fabrics and exquisite headpieces.
