Not since I heard Spike Jonze was making Where The Wild Things Are have I been this excited for an adaptation of a book to screen. Based on the book by Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood tells the bittersweet love story of Toru Watanabe, who looks back on his days as a freshman university student living in Tokyo in the 1960s. Directed by Tran Anh Hung with music by Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead, this film has a lot of buzz. It hits theaters in December in Japan. If you haven’t read the book yet, do yourself a favour before you watch the film (and the inevitable Western remake!).
