David Michôd’s “Crossbow”

20 Aug

I’m a big fan of Australian writer/director David Michôd. His debut feature, Animal Kingdom, is the best thing to come out of the Australian film industry this year. Michôd first garnered international attention in 2008 when Crossbow (which he wrote and directed) premiered at Sundance. I watched it again recently and had to post it. Watching this short film, you can see the germination of the visual aesthetic and narrative structure that made Animal Kingdom so compelling.
