I have a massive soft spot for Australian fashion label Ksubi. Back in the day, when I was a retail whore for General Pants I used to covet their clothing with the sort of devotion 13-year-old boys reserve for wanking. I was somewhat devastated in February this year when the company was liquidated and restructured – it looked like it was all over. But, then a deal was struck with major shareholder Harry Hodge and the Ksubi manufacturer Bleach bought the brand’s trademarks and intellectual property for a reported $5 million. Now, here we are in May 2010 and last night Ksubi closed Rosemount Australian Fashion Week at the Royal Hall of Industries in Sydney. Designers George Gorrow and Dan Single turned to influential Australian stylist and US Harpers Bazaar editor-at-large, Brana Wolf to ensure the success of their Spring/Summer 2010/11 collection. The collection, titled “One Via Zero”, had the typical rawness and denim edge associated with the brand. Take a look and judge for yourself.
