Be My Brother is the winner of the 2009 Australian Tropfest Short Film Festival. The film was written and directed by 20-year-old, Genevieve Clay. The film looks at society and people with disabilities feeling displaced due to prejudices. It sounds like heavy stuff – but the short is filled with humour and pathos. Clay was inspired to make the film after meeting its star, Gerard O’Dwyer, while working on a documentary about young people with Down Syndrome. Take some time out to watch and enjoy.
