The Wii Spray

13 Sep

Here’s some good news for those of us that like our graff but don’t like getting our hands dirty. As part of his final thesis, Martin Lihs, a Media Art and Design student at Bauhaus-University in Weimar, Germany, is developing a virtual spraycan controller for the Ninetendo Wii. The can-style casing contains a dismembered Wiimote coupled to a nozzle button. The Wiispray is said to simulate real aerosol graff characteristics and can be used to manipulate an on-screen virtual spraycan, with a range of different paints and colour options.

There’s no news on when (or if) it will be brought to market – although Martin is said to be planning collaborative online spraying via the website.

Let’s get wiitarded in here!
